We sat down with the lead designer at ModivaWear to explore the heart of what drives our collections — the creativity, the intention, and the confidence they’re designed to inspire. Here's what she shared with us:
Q: What inspires the collections at ModivaWear?
A: At ModivaWear, we’re inspired by real women — their energy, their curves, their individuality. Our collections draw from street style in cities like New York and LA, blended with European minimalism and bold, expressive prints. We want every piece to feel like it belongs in your life — not just on a runway.
We also look at seasonality and lifestyle. Our “Two-Piece Sets” were designed with versatility in mind — so you can mix and match, or wear them as easy, elevated outfits. The “Activewear” pieces are built for movement, but they still have fashion-first detailing because we know you’re not just wearing them to the gym — you’re running errands, meeting friends, or lounging in style.
Q: What’s the design process like behind the scenes?
A: It starts with listening. We review customer feedback, study how women move, what they feel good in, and where mainstream fashion still leaves them out — especially in plus sizes. From there, we moodboard, sketch, and prototype designs with a focus on fit first, followed by color stories and fabric feel.
We test everything on different body types before we approve a design for production. Our “Plus Size Blouses” and “Dresses” go through multiple fit rounds to ensure comfort without compromising on style.
Q: What sets ModivaWear apart from other brands?
A: We don’t treat plus size as an afterthought. Our “Curvy Outerwear”, “Sweaters & Knits”, and “Jumpsuits & Rompers” aren’t just scaled-up versions of standard sizes — they’re re-engineered for real bodies. Every collection celebrates bold femininity and modern practicality. Our mission is to make women feel seen, included, and empowered in what they wear — whether it’s a casual tank top or a show-stopping two-piece set.
Q: What’s next for ModivaWear?
A: We’re diving deeper into sustainability and specialty fabrics that support both the planet and the person wearing them. You can expect limited-edition drops, capsule wardrobes, and more luxe textures in upcoming seasons. Most importantly, we’ll continue listening to our community — that’s where the best ideas come from.
